Bonne Fete!!!

It's carnival season!!! For those of you that live in, live near, are traveling to, have ever traveled to, or even just heard in the wind of a place at the bottom of Louisiana called New Orleans, then you probably have some familiarity with Mardi Gras. Translated from French to English, "Fat Tuesday" began as a feast consisting of all the delectable things one shouldn't eat the night before beginning the fast associate with Lent. It has transformed into a continuous celebration full of parades and balls and parties and pageantry that takes place over the two weeks* leading up to Fat Tuesday, which falls on the day before Ash Wednesday.

Represented by 3 colors used to embellish beads to king cakes to masks and everything in between, the vibrant combination of yellow, green, and purple has become synonymous with this French-roots festival the world over. Yellow means power, while green stands for faith and purple symbolizes justice. These are highly esteemed ideals in my reality.

Because growth brings forth change, it is important to remember to balance the equation by honoring the traditions of not only where we come from, but the spaces we occupy. Every year I fall in love with Mardi Gras all over again. This year I want to include you in my love affair!! My gift to you, a beautiful duo we call the Fete Collection: Creed - a deep green dimension liquid lipstick, and its plush purple counterpart - Virtue. Created with the same care and quality as all of out hand-crafted items, these new lippies are 100% vegan, organic, and cruelty-free.

So, whether you are picking out your accessories for your close-up in your festival attire, or if you just want to join in on the carnival spirit from the observation deck, remember to include your ultimate party favor, Karmen Covered Kisses!!!!!

*This time frame has been known to be adjusted to accommodate major public events that stem from outside of New Orleans culture.
